The Witch's Bakery on Nintendo Switch 2
Switch 2 has its own store page and its own application id. Nintendo's data marks isUpgrade as false. Buying the Switch 1 game does not, on any page I could find, unlock this version.

I checked the current Nintendo product pages on October 18, 2026. Nintendo lists Switch 1 at 2.5 GB and Switch 2 at 4.4 GB. The two products have separate store pages. That file-size difference is not a promise of a performance mode, resolution, or shared save support.
What a Game-Key Card means here
Sunny Lab said the Switch 2 box is a Game-Key Card so the physical edition could stay cheaper to manufacture. The card is not a full game on the cartridge. You still download the game. The publisher's FAQ also says the physical edition includes a Digital Cookbook, same as the PS5 and Switch 1 boxes, on sale from October 16, 2026.
Switch 1 versus Switch 2
Anything beyond the rows below — frame rate, a resolution mode, shared saves, a free upgrade — is not in the official product data. I am leaving those cells blank on purpose.

Questions this page answers
Do I need to buy Switch 2 separately?
The eShop lists it as its own product. No upgrade pack is published on that page.
Is the Switch 2 box the full game?
It is a Game-Key Card. Sunny Lab described that choice as a way to keep the physical price down. You download the game.
